2018 Boys ‘A’ Basketball Fraser Valley Championships  (at Unity)

Highroad (#3) vs. Unity Christian (#6)                             – Wednesday  February 21st at 4:45pm

Congratulations to the Grade 6/7 Boys basketball team on winning the 2018 CESS Basketball Tournament!!!

After a strong start in the first two games of the tournament, the Knights faced off against a strong team from John Calvin School. After a close fist half, the boys opened up a double digit lead, but John Calvin battled back to tie the game in the final minute of the second half. With a last minute shot and foul, Highroad took the lead by 1 and held on with at 42 to 41 victory to earn a place in the final game against Unity Christian School.

In the final game the knights faced a strong team in Unity who had also won all their games leading up to the final. The game started out close once again, but the Knights fought hard and found themselves once again with a strong lead at half time. Unlike the semi-final, the boys didn’t let up and continued to play a strong second half and finished the game with a 51 to 38 win.

Thank you to all of those parents and fans that came out to cheer on our boys. I am very proud of the hard work that all the grade 6/7 boys put in this year and the success that they have seen.

Up next is the 3 on 3 tournament at Unity Christian School on Feb 20th.
